Our Discovery Flights are done in a Cessna 152 or 172, which are both aircraft normally used for all your flight training.

When you arrive at Mitchinson Flight Centre, you’ll meet an experienced instructor who’ll give you a pre-flight briefing to discuss safety information, what to expect on your flight, and then take you out to the aircraft you’ll be using.

Let’s go FLYING!! Your Discovery Flight will last approximately 20 to 30 minutes and will introduce you to the basics of flight. The instructor will perform the take-off, and then you’ll climb up to approximately 1500 feet over the city and do a few turns showing you the basics of flying an airplane, maybe fly over your neighborhood, then return to the airport for a landing. During the flight you will hear all the air traffic control radio calls; you can even take pictures both in the air and on the ground, so bring your camera!

Once you’re back on the ground, your instructor can take your picture by the airplane, answer any questions you may have, and tell you what to expect for your next flight. One of our staff can give you a tour of the school if you’d like, and provide you with an information package to reference later at your convenience.

**ALL Discovery and Scenic Flights must be prepaid at time of booking**

• 1st time Cancellations: Customers will receive 1 verbal if phoning in to cancel a Disco within 24 hours prior to the flight. If cancellation is outside the 24 hour window, a $50.00 fee is charged.
• A 2nd cancellation will incur a $50.00 fee.
• ALL No shows will incur a full charge fee for that flight.
