My journey with Mitchinson Flight Centre began at an open house for the new students of the Sask. Polytechnic Commercial Pilot program. I began the program holding only a Private Pilot License which I attained at my home in Regina. Moving to Saskatoon meant I needed a new school to continue my training. The Mitchinson open house was a great opportunity to discover what Mitchinson’s could offer. The owners, instructors, and staff were very approachable and informative.
Alongside my classes at Sask. Polytechnic, Mitchinson’s was very supportive with continuing my training. They helped me complete my Night Rating, Commercial Pilot License, Multi-Engine Rating, and Instrument Rating all within one year. This would never have been possible without the support of everyone at Mitchinson’s. From the Instructors to the owners and staff, they were all essential in the success of my training.
Upon finishing my training, Mitchinson’s expressed interest in me becoming an Instructor. I accepted immediately and was thrilled to be a part of the Instructor team for just over a year.
Since then Mitchinson has helped me attain my float rating. This lead to a job with Osprey Wings Ltd. flying a Twin Otter on floats during the summer. During the winter Mitchinson led me to Kenn Borek Air flying a Twin Otter on wheels all around the world from Resolute Bay, Nunavut to the Caribbean.
My success and Commercial experience would not be what it is today if I had never met those wonderful people at the open house. Mitchinson’s is a recipe for success in the aviation industry and they will help you achieve your goals.
